Maureen Hirthler's Florida Friendly Yard
Master Gardener, Maureen Hirthler has a wonderful Florida-Friendly property in the coastal community of Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island Her landscape exists primarily on rainfall and is supplemented as needed with a micro-irrigation system. Her home garden produces tomato and pepper plants and a variety of herbs in addition to a beautiful selection of orchids. The concrete boat ramp and old wooden deck have been replaced with a porous brick patio surrounding the pool and shell landscape beds incorporating a selection of Florida-Friendly plants. Maureen's yard received the Silver Palmetto recognition. Congratulations!!
