Master Gardener Demonstration Garden

The following photos were taken from our demonstration garden developed by Master Gardeners and located  behind the Manatee County Extension Office and Fairgrounds.  We are very proud of our new gardens and wanted to share some before and after shots with you.  Please feel free to stop by and tour the garden any Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.  Stop in at our Master Gardener Plant Clinic to tour grounds.

Taken Jan. 2012 - This attractive bottle tree demonstrates a great way to recycle in the garden.  Both blue and red (tropical) salvia along with red pentas decorate the base of the bottle tree and invite in the pollinators.

Dooryard citrus and other fruit trees are on display.

The letter C for cat whiskers one of the 26 letters in our animal named, plant alphabet garden.

Kids, come make your way through the maze in our children's garden.

What's blooming in the gardens?

It must be summer - Okra is ready for picking in our vegetable garden.

Save water by planting herbs in your fountain.  Locate this just out side the door making it easy to use those fresh herbs.

Herbs can be grown throughout most of the summer months.  Some are seasonal and will need to be replaced.
