Get Your Gardening Questions Answered

Welcome to the Salad Table & Cooking with Herbs

November 7, 2009

This FREE class teaches and demonstrates how to build a "salad" (gardening) table or a raised garden that requires limited bending and is wheelchair accessible.  Wheels can be added to make the table mobile.  Instructions will be given in class.  After building the garden table, Samantha Kennedy, Family & Consumer Sciences Agent, will cook a tasty dish using herbs that can be grown on the "salad" table.  For more information, please contact the Master Gardeners on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday at (941) 722-4524.

Bucket Brigade - Container Gardening

Home Composting Workshop

Learn how to turn your kitchen scraps and yard waste into useful soil amendments.  Participants will learn Florida-Friendly Landscaping concepts and details about how to set up a home compost bin.  Leave with a compost bin to start creating your own compost.   The fee for the combined workshop is $15.00.  This class will be held at the Manatee County Extension office in Palmetto from 2:00pm-4:00pm.

Citrus Problem Identification

2nd Fair Workshop for FFA/4-H Plant Exhibitors

Learn how to groom and exhibit your plants for the fair in order to win top prizes.  Bring in a couple of your plants for hands on instruction in pruning, pest control, evaluation, best placement in a display and last minute tips.  Peggy Dessaint will show you how to make your plants their most attractive and Diana Smith will show you how to market and display your plants.

ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification
